Moments from 2018 (and a video from our longest cruise ever)

As the year approaches its end, it is nice to reminisce about the past season and look at what happened over the Summer at Dundee Sailing Club.

The Wayfarer 60th anniversary went ahead as planned, although we had to postpone it multiple times due to adverse weather. In the end there were fewer boats on the water but we still had a very enjoyable time. Some pictures and a video are here:

Over the weeks we had our usual selection of short and long cruises, including the usual trip to The Pool for dolphins spotting:

In September we had a couple of camping trips, to Bridge of Earn (pictured here) and Lucky Scalp:

Of course, during the V&A opening weekend, Dundee Sailing Club joined the other yachts and many visitors ashore in celebrating a milestone events for Dundee:

But the highlight of the season was our longest cruise ever, across the St. Andrews Bay and down the East Neuk of Fife into Elie Harbour. It was an amazing 9 hours sail made better by the wonderful hospitality of our gracious hosts, the Elie & Earlsferry Sailing Club (http://eesc.org.uk/). A few of their members also joined in the trip over and in the trip back. One of our members, Mikel, did the whole trip with his brother (a complete novice), which earned him the trophy for most improved sailor of the year. Here is a video which he edited for us to enjoy:
